The Quilt was a national charity based in Stratford, Ontario. Launched in 1999 by founder and breast cancer survivor Carol Miller, each year hundreds of quilts were specially created for auction at the Fundraising Auction Gala. For several weeks preceding the gala, the quilts were displayed and open for bidding. The annual quilt auction became so popular that events were held across the country and raised nearly $2 million for outreach programs and organizations that provide free emotional and physical support services to cancer patients and their loved ones. Over the years, thousands of quilts were donated from across Canada and around the world, many of which were dedicated to someone who had lost their battle or accompanied by remarkable stories of survival. “Let no one face cancer alone.”
MJC coordinated the music performances for the gala evening in 2003 and 2004.
