  In addition to its ongoing promotion of musicians and opera singers, MJC undertakes special projects in various fields of the arts. Below is a selection of current and recent special projects.

Current projects:
» National Gallery of Canada's 125th anniversary Renaissance Ball  - consultant
The National Gallery of Canada Foundation, created in 1977 to promote private support for the Gallery, will present its first-ever national fundraising event on MAy 28, 2005. The Renaissance Ball at the Gallery will mark the 125th Anniversary of the institution and will attract Gallery supporters from across Canada, including a distinguished group of leaders from the arts, government and business.

 
» Moritzburg's Festival in Dresden, Germany

The Moritzburg Festival is a prominent international chamber music festival held annually throughout the month of August in Dresden, Germany. It will feature many well-known musicians as well as several young, talented new generation musicians.

MJC will be responsible for the co-ordination of international public relations for the 2005 Moritzburg Festival.

» Television Documentary: The Origins of the Renaissance in Italy

A 4-part documentary television series, produced by Red Canoe Productions for Vision TV which examines the first dawn of modern civilization and modern art – the 14th century. It places art in the new civic context and in the new culture of the period and demonstrates that this extraordinary moment in Western history established patterns, and identified problems that remain part of the modern urban experience. The series is filmed in the glorious landscape of Tuscany and Umbria, in Siena, Florence and Assisi.

MJC was responsible for logistics and coordination of the film shoot in Italy.

 



» Live from Rideau Hall: Governor General’s 50 th Anniversary Gala Concert
The Barenaked Ladies, Gordon Lightfoot, Roch Voisine, Natalie MacMaster, Richard Margison, Paul Brandt, Deborah Cox, Mario Pelchat, Susan Aglukark, Les Violons du Roy, Measha Brueggergosman, Trio François Bourassa, Jon Kimura Parker, the Canadian Brass, Mario Bernardi and the National Arts Centre Orchestra were among the many great Canadian artists who celebrated on a huge outdoor stage on the grounds of Rideau Hall. Televised live on CBC/Radio-Canada on June 16, 2002.
